  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened

Divide batter between the two prepared cake pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick or cake tester inserted in center comes out clean. Allow cakes to cool in pans for 10 minutes and then turn out onto cooling racks to cool completely before frosting.
